“Steve” wants actual proof that he’s a liar and not just “circumstantial”. In a long-winded, defensive rant, he whines:
“Hey Whitecotton Tales, I read you by way of the link that Depth left. The way it works in the U.S. is, “The Burden of Proof lies with the accuser!” You’re making the accusations, prove it! I see you foaming out the mouth with a lot of circumstantial bullshit, but I see no proof of anything! Once again, The burden of proof lies on you. You’re putting me on trial. I didn’t ask for this. All’s I’ve ever asked is to be left alone. If you’re gonna play lawyer and armchair detective, then do the proper job and provide the burden of proof…”
Okay, Mark. Your wish is my command.
It is impossible to verify fictional events like the mugging and murder, other than to show that no murder of an 11-year-old girl took place in Baltimore County on July 17, 2007, as claimed by “Steve“.
But every once in a while he makes claims that can be easily verified with a few minutes of research on Google.
Just one example. On 18 July 2007, “Steve” wrote in an entry archived on The Way Back Machine:
“It’s funny how bloggers connect with one another. Some have linked me by the blog’s name, “Defying Despondency”. Others have me down as “Anything but Sad” (which is the blog’s URL). Still, a few tagged me as Diamondfistwerny (my band’s name) ….But, the most common email I get is about diamondfistwerny. Let me set the record straight, for all the pervs out there: “I don’t wear a diamond-studded tiara; while shoving my fist up a guy’s poop-shoot! That’s not my scene (to give or recieve). Diamond Fist Werny is made up of the last names of some of the band members.” Warning: If you click on the band link, you will hear dated music. We haven’t released an album in about 5 years (since our lead singer got very sick and died). ”
Here is the actual screenshot of his post for your convenience – click to enlarge – but you can also verify the entry at this Way Back Machine link, since he removed several posts containing lies, including this one, from his blog:
Three basic facts can be checked here:
1). Was “Steve” a member of Diamond Fist Werny?
2). Was “Marc aka The_Gay_Dude” a member of Diamond Fist Werny?
3). Did the lead singer of Diamond Fist Werny die?
Here are The Facts:
Diamond Fist Werny was a real Seattle-based band known for playing alternative rock with an Indian/Native American style. Its members were Todd Werny (vocals and lead guitar), Tim Soba (acoustic and electric percussion), Kevin Tone (samples and bass guitar), and Axel Mundi (bass clarinetist, alto and soprano saxophone, b-flat clarinet). They were active from at least 1989-1995 and from 1998-2000 and by 2000 had released at least three albums (‘Diamond Fist Werny,’ ‘Enchanted Parkway,’ and ‘Long View to the Sky’).
Hmm. No mention of a “Steve” OR a “Marc”.
Now let’s look at a photo of the REAL lead singer AND the REAL bass guitarist from Diamond Fist Werny, provided by GiantRadio.com:

Hmm. The bass guitarist doesn’t look at all like “Steve’s” profile pic:

And the lead singer doesn’t look a thing like “Marc”, the alleged dead guy, does he?

Photographs of several of the band members are available online:
http://www.earpollution.com/may99/coolbyproxy/coolbyproxy.html
Another website has a photograph of Todd Werny after he started a new band, Todd Werny & Blackpine:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/bands/band.asp?bandID=214 .
Yet another photograph of the band is available at another website:
http://www.cretins.org/seattle/BlackPine.htm
With these basic facts and a set of photographs, let us re-examine the three questions.
1). Was “Steve Pulignani” a member of the group?
No. None of the individuals in the photographs of band members resemble the three portraits of himself that “Steve” posted on his own blog. In particular, “Steve” does not resemble the bass guitar player, Kevin Tone (“Steve” has mentioned he plays bass). There is also no evidence that “Steve” was ever a member of the group. None of the websites indicate that anyone named Steve has ever been a member of the group. Of course, Steve now claims that he goes by his middle name. But in any case, there is no proof he was ever a member of the band.
2). Was “Marc Luektemeyer” a member of the group?
No. “Marc” self-reported on his now-deleted blog Voyeur Nation that he was born in 1975. If so, he would have been only 14 when the band formed in 1989. It seems unlikely that “Marc” would have been able to perform in Seattle-area bars at age 14. Or 15. Or 16. “Marc” was also reported to be the lead singer of the group. Of interest is the lead singer, Todd Werny, looks nothing like the three photographs known to exist of “Marc Luetkemeyer/Marc Whitecotton.” “Marc” is blonde, thin, and has a boyish face. Todd Werny is muscular and has brown hair.
3). Is the lead singer of Diamond Fist Werny dead?
No. The lead singer of the group, Todd Werny, is 41-years-old and still alive and currently living in Seattle, where he owns a business called “Space Oddity Vintage Furniture,” as verified by a simple White Pages phone search. The White Pages conveniently provides his phone number. I wonder if someone were to call that number and speak to Todd, whether he would have any clue who “Steve” or “Marc” were.
In conclusion, research on the band Diamond Fist Werny has identified the names of the four band members, provided photographs of these individuals (including the lead singer and bass player), and shown that the lead singer is still alive and living in Seattle. These facts directly contradict the statements made by “Steve” on his 18 July 2007 blog entry.
And that, dear readers, is proof that he is a pathological liar.
That was easy, wasn’t it?
Deliberately deceiving your readers is an action; The Whitecotton Tales is a consequence.
That’s really more evidence that I needed. But it’s all very solid and compelling.
Isn’t is amazing that ALL of his personalities have one common thread that ties them all together? They are all dickholes.
I mean – really – if you have a whole slew of personalities – wouldn’t you want at least ONE to be somewhat nice and respectable?
I guess I feel sorry for him that all his “peeps” are worthless to society.
